Yankadi and Makru come from the Susu people of Southwest Guinea. Traditionally played together as courting rhythm, it moves through two sections. Yankadi which moves slow with a swing, almost reggae-like. This warm, enticing rhythm gently draws you until, bang! The groove changes into an explosive, exhilarating charge of drums and percussion.

In the sessions you’ll get to play djembes, dun dun bass drums and a range of percussion including bells, shakers and clave. Expect big drum breaks, big smiles and most of all lots of fun!  

Both sessions in May are are accessible and open to all and can be booked individually or together with a discount. Drums are provided or you are welcome to bring your own. Booking is essential.
