In art history gold was often reserved for surrounding a deity, to elevate to make special. Today we are seeing a renaissance of gold appearing as backgrounds with a nod to Japanese lacquer work and gold leaf introduced to highlight and decorate. We can try this in a much more modest way, so hold onto a Christmas gold spray! Acrylics particularly will sit well on top, leaving a golden glow or exposed areas. The only limit is your imagination as we discover allsorts of possibilities. A chance to be very experimental! Some pre- work needed, to allow for drying.
