Following her training by Colour Me Beautiful, Liana lectured in Colour magic and Makeup techniques. She found it unwittingly taught her more about colour and application than art school! It has parallels to many classic approaches as we look for soft and hard edges, where to bring attention to detail , how to get smooth blends and so on. Whilst reminding portrait painters of facial ratios to follow, the lessons are applicable to all subjects and media.

So, this light-hearted stealing of techniques from the world of make–up may be eye-opening in more ways than one......... if it also inspires a makeup update!
