Intro to Afro-American Rhythms Event Information page

Drum Devon presents the ‘Introduction to World Rhythms Series’ at the Pavilions Teignmouth. During each workshop we will explore a particular style of rhythm from different parts of the world. Open to both experienced players and complete beginners, you will experience the fantastic rhythms which bring so much joy and energy to different music of the world. Expect big beats, big breaks and most of all big smiles!

4th Feb - Intro to Puerto Rican Bomba

18th Feb - Intro to Ghanaian Kpanlogo

4th March - Intro to Afro-Cuban Rumba Guaguancó

15th April - African Djembe Rhythms

29th April - Intro to Jamaican Rhythms

13th May - Intro to Afro-American Rhythms

Each sessionis a standalone workshop and runs from 11am to 1pm, so come to one or come to all of them!

£15 per session or £12.50 when buying three or more in one transaction.
