 PAINTING SMALL FIGURES For your landscapes    

Many of us avoid doing figures, if they go wrong they can ruin a picture, yet our beach/land/cityscapes can look barren without them. Figures also give scale to our work and can lead the viewer into experiencing the feeling of being there. So today we will learn some simple, foolproof techniques for creating small, simplified figures. We’ll consider proportions, variety, how to simplify and add movement- all just with the swoosh of a brush! But it takes practice, in fact when we let, go they even become fun! You’ll wonder why they seemed hard at all. We may venture outdoors for our models……

SUMMER SCHOOL IS HERE!

Make the most of summer with our relaxed painting days ; whether making the most of the glorious seafront [and café!] or in our large airy studio, we will dip our toes into a variety of summer subjects and interesting techniques. With her usual enthusiasm, humour and patience, Liana will guide you through and encourage you to produce gorgeous work to capture the summer. Bring your visitors too for a great experience!
