Write your own Memoir with Dr. Rosie Jackson
Event details
- Event times:
- Start : 10.45am
- Venue : Pavilions Teignmouth - Meeting Room
Everyone’s life is full of stories and writing your memoir can be a wonderfully fulfilling process. Whether it is for yourself, your family, or a wider audience, a memoir helps make sense of things and offers an opportunity to reflect on the deeper meaning of your life.
These workshops will offer a safe, encouraging place to explore capturing your life in writing. They will help you find purpose, voice, confidence and inspiration; tackle shape, structure, character, dialogue (and humour!); consider spiritual and ethical issues; and review your experiences in a new and uplifting way. The course is suitable for complete beginners and veteran writers alike.
Rosie has taught at the Universities of East Anglia and West of England, and has run writing groups in community settings in UK and abroad. Widely published in both prose and poetry, her own memoir The Glass Mother came out in 2016. She taught memoir in Somerset for many years, and now, new to Teignmouth, is offering her courses here.
