A lovely Hatha yoga class for anyone who would like to take things slowly and mindfully.

Dates and Times

Tuesday evenings from 7 – 8pm

Friday mornings from 10 – 11am

Please arrive early to allow time to settle before either class.

 

We explore a range of asanas (postures) and breathing techniques to encourage focus, build strength and balance and increase our range of movement, ending with a deep relaxation to leave you feeling refreshed and energised.

About me

I have recently completed my 500 hour Level 4 Diploma Course with the British Wheel of Yoga, which has taken me 3 years of studying, and included 2 years of teaching a regular class. 

I came to yoga almost 15 years ago because I was stiff in my joints and was very inflexible, which was starting to affect my mobility and I worried that things were only going to get worse.

What a life changing discovery!

I found that yoga is wonderful for getting every part of your body moving and feeling better, but also for finding space in your head – a mindful, peaceful awareness. I may still not be particularly flexible, but that doesn’t matter, my body feels better and I love it and I want to be able to share that with you, to enable you to explore your own body and mind.

We practice in blocks of classes, usually about 6 weeks and have a simple theme (for example from the old yogic texts or a specific physical idea to explore, such as lengthening our spines). We have a voyage of discovery about ourselves and how we relate to ourselves physically, mentally, and perhaps spiritually, and how we relate to challenges and life on and off the mat.

Covid-19 Protocol

Class numbers are limited to support social distancing. The room will be as well ventilated as possible. Masks are worn until everyone is settled on their mats. Unfortunately I will currently be unable to provide mats and props e.g. blocks and belts, should you not already have these. If you contact me I can advise on where these may be purchased. They are not expensive items.

Cost

I do prefer students to book in blocks of 5 classes at a time in order to make the most of the theme and the cost per class is £7, payable in advance by BACS transfer, or cash if that’s difficult for you.  So, if you want to give a class a try, I charge £8, but please do contact me beforehand to see if there are spaces available to save disappointment and to ask any questions.

Last classes of 2021: Friday - last class date 17th December 2021, Tuesday - last class date 21st December 2021

Classes re-start in 2022: Friday - 7th January 2022 and Tuesday - 11th January 2022
