Funny, inventive, inspired and moving, this performance takes the audiences from laughter to tears seamlessly.
In 1897, three explorers took off to the arctic in a free-flying balloon. Behind them, they left a woman who could not forget them. A folk tale based on the true story of Salomon Andrée’s doomed balloon expedition to the Arctic. Set thirty years after Andrée launched from Svalbard with Nils Strindberg and Knut Fraenkel, and told through the eyes of Nils’s fiancée who continues to obsess over her lost love, the audience are treated to a multi-layered narrative, and taken on the journey through imaginative and creative staging and performance.
This is a highly visual and physical journey through whiter than white nights and darker than dark days, where nothing is what it seems
