Teignmouth Comedy Club - a great night of comedy with 3 comedians and compere.
Neil is a Glaswegian comedian with that city’s razor-edged wit and pathos. He could have become the latest of Scotland’s hard-bitten comedy heroes if not for his tragically secure and stable background, good education, high standard of living and both parents being stubbornly still alive. Neil is an intelligent comic, and to prove it he’s been on 15 to 1 twice, but won’t be again as he was told off by William G Stewart for slouching. He’s very funny and we’ve been trying to book him for a while. And here he is!
“Really rather good” – Robert Dawson Scott, The Times
Stephanie also began on the Scottish comedy circuit, and came to everyone’s attention in 2015 as a finalist of the Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year competition. Her style is relentlessly silly, crossing over into storytelling, naughty, filthy, bonkers, naughty bonkers storytelling and back to silly again via some disarmingly honest confessionals that would send any therapist to the Labour Exchange. Fans of the American comedy star Maria Bamford will know what to expect from Stephanie’s delightful comedic detours.
“Gloriously silly … wonderfully unpretentious’ - BroadwayBaby.com
Recently seen on BBC’s Comedy Underground and Comedy Central’s Alternative Comedy Experience, Stephen Carlin has clocked up rave reviews and sell-out shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Chosen as one of Stewart Lee’s “Ten Best Stand Up Comedians Ever” Carlin has supported Stewart Lee, Stephen Merchant & Tom Stade on their British tours.
As always, Carlin’s art lies in his ability to quarry wildly original material from the most conventional of starting points. By taking run-of-the-mill observations and then applying his relentless but warped logic. This married to his exceptional use of language and his brilliantly opinionated broadsides make for memorable routines - all delivered in his deadpan Scottish brogue.
“A cult favourite among fans of the sharper end of stand-up” Guardian
“One of the most distinctive, and funniest, new comedians in Britain” Chortle.co.uk
